These are the tools we use daily in our home office that make our lives a little brighter.
Our home office started pretty basic, with us sitting in uncomfortable chairs on our laptops. Over the years, we invested in to make working from home a bit easier and more productive.
So, as of 2024, this is how things look like:
And here are the individual items in more detail:
Herman Miller Mirra 2 Office Chair
Sitting at the desk for so many hours a day is no joke for your back. So, after years of hard kitchen chairs and creaky IKEA office chairs, we invested in these comfy and stylish beauties!
Switched to these sleek and completely quiet (!) powerhouses from our previous Intel MacBooks. Such a good decision! Alena is team silver and Lars team space grey.
A monitor arm like this comes in handy for easily positioning your monitor in different directions. It’s great for ergonomics and if I need to show something briefly to Alena.
For the price, I found this to be one of the best 4k monitors in terms of color accuracy and quality of the display panel. Plus, the monitor can deliver 60W of power!
3 things I love about this mouse: the ergonomics, the scroll wheel that lets me scroll up and down super quickly, and the space grey color that perfectly fits with my MacBook.
These are little lifesavers whenever there are annoying sounds in or around the house that I want to block to focus on work. The seamless switching between different devices is a nice bonus.
Nothing fancy — just a basic and cheap wireless charging pad to charge the phones and AirPods. Works alright, but you have to make sure to properly align the items in the middle.
Especially in winter, when everything is dark and days are short, this LED light can boost my mood and make me feel a bit less sleepy. It simulates daylight with up to 10,000 lux of brightness.

Computer Desk
Just some random desks we bought from Wayfair Germany. They are holding up fine so far and the Scandi style fits nicely into our home.
The office is still a work in progress, and we’re looking to make things a bit more comfy in the future. But overall, we’re quite happy with the current setup already.
